VGMA set to lift ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The Board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) has finally agreed to lift the ban on reggae/Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The Head of Public Events and PRO at Charterhouse, Robert Klah made this revelation during an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz show.

According to him, the board has internally agreed to lift the ban.

“It was in principle decided that the ban should be lifted” he disclosed.

Robert Klah further disclosed that Charterhouse will release an official statement after the organizers of the awards scheme meet with both artists and their management teams to resolve their outstanding issues.

“There is a reason why this altercation happened and you want to be sure that they don’t resurface.You want to have that kind of conversation to understand and agree on how things should move” He said.

This comes ahead of the next edition of the VGMAs scheduled to happen this year as entries for nominees are open till 15th February 2021.

We cannot tell if Stonwboy and Shatta Wale will be part of this year’s awards scheme but Mr. Klah disclosed that if the official statement is issued before the deadline of submissions for nominations, the artists can submit their works for nomination.

Mr. Klah was quick to add that artists who have collaborated with Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in the year under review can submit their works for nomination to be part of the 2021 edition.
