“Stealing Part Of People Songs Is Part Of Music Creation”-Kidi Says

Ghanaian musician, Dennis Nana Kwaku Dwamena, widely known as Kidi has responded to the numerous sentiments expressed by Ghanaians about the sampling of songs by Ghanaian musicians.

This comes after the numerous backlashes some Ghanaian musicians have suffered over the years for sampling songs from other musicians. The likes of Kuami Eugene, Mr. Drew, and Kidi himself have been dragged on social media numerous times for sampling songs.

According to Kidi, song sampling is an integral part of music creation, hence Ghanaians need to understand that Ghanaian musicians are still talented irrespective of the fact that they sometimes sample songs from other musicians.

Kidi stated that even as he samples other people’s songs, he creates new melodies of his own in conjunction with the one he sampled so it is most likely that his songs will also be sampled by someone one day.
