
JUST IN: Zakoli Gruesome Murder of Eight Fulanis; Two Suspects Finally Arrested

Police in the Northern Region has finally arrested two persons including a female in connection with the gruesome murder of about Eight (8) Fulanis including a Muslim cleric at Zakoli, a farming community near Yendi in the Northern Region.
Though police will not disclose the identities of the suspects, they disclosed that he is in their custody assisting with investigations in order to help in apprehending their accomplices.
Northern Regional Crime Officer Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga who confirmed the arrest disclosed that the male one was arrested in Yendi and the other close to the community of the crime.
“There was an arrest in connection with the Zakoli murder that happened recently where 8 Fulanis were killed. One suspect was arrested and is helping in investigations and a female suspect was also picked up to assist in investigations. The first one who was arrested was in Yendi and the other one was arrested in one of the communities”, he revealed.
According to him, the man is the main suspect who used a tricycle to carry the other suspects at large to the scene of crime and has since been remanded.
Officer Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga disclosed that the police in the area is still gathering more intelligence and seeking the support of members of the community to enable them apprehend other suspects at large.
Meanwhile, the Fulani community in Ghana is mounting pressure on the government and security agencies to apprehend the suspects behind the dastardly act as they were gradually losing their patience.
General Secretary of the Fulanis Community in Ghana, Barry Yakubu Musah in a statement which reads in part said “to be frank with you, we can’t control our people anymore they are running out of patience and the security must act very fast to bring those people to book, this is not the first time we are going through this but we don’t get the justice.
