Fan Milk employee uses company’s GHC7,000 to stake bet and lose.
A 23-year-old fan milk employee, Saddick Amoah who is a salesperson at Fan Milk depot in Ashaiman has been brought before the Law court after he used the company’s money to stake bet and lose.
According to the source, Saddick Amoah used GHC7,000 from the sales that he made in a day to stake bet with the high expectation to win millions. His genuine intention was to return the company’s GHC7,000 after he makes his quick money from the bet.
However, unfortunately for Saddick Amoah, the bet didn’t win as he anticipated and he ended up losing all the GHC7,000.
Madam Thelma Bortey, who is the depot manager took the matter to the police after Saddick failed to account for the missing money. According to Madam Thelma Bortey, she noticed a reduction in the sales money which Saddick Amoah who was in charge of the money could not account for.
The Police decided to investigate the matter after it was reported to them. In the quest of getting the truth, Saddick finally opened up and said he used the money to play bet with the high hope to win some cash for himself and also retrieve the money he took from the sales money but he loses.
The matter is currently being handled by the court. However, Saddick did not admit to his mistake but rather insist that he did nothing wrong. A bail of GHC10,000 has been set by the court and the court is asking anyone who can bail him to do so. The case has been adjourned to 3 March 2021.
