According to Forbes, Messi was the highest paid footballer in the world this year, earning 106 million euros, thus achieving revenues of over 1 billion euros.
Cristiano Ronaldo had also become a billionaire during this year, thus becoming the third athlete in the world to reach 1 billion euros in his career.
