Cable Thief electrocuted to death in Tema
A Man in his early 40s suspected to be a cable thief has been electrocuted to death at Community 4 a suburb in the Tema, Greater Accra Region.
The suspect who was found hanging this dawn by members of the community in a mini telecommunication transformer which belongs to one of the Telecos, had his head stuck inside the transformer with his body outside.
Clad in a ‘tie and dye’ T-shirt with a blue trouser and a polythene bag containing some tools, the suspect who is yet to be identified by the police, is said to have been seen a night before the incident roaming around the vicinity.
He could be seen wearing a rubber slippers probably with the intention that it could prevent him from getting electrocuted but things didn’t go well as he expected.
Police have since arrived at the scene to carry the body to the morgue, while investigations continue into the matter.
